The spell of bad weather has caused few problems in Bath, with most of the snow further up-country in Gloucester and above.
But this afternoon the hill surrounding the town still had a covering of snow.

He’s been out in the cart to change the line spacers that were damaged by salt corrosion.

The Forum cinema in Bath in 1982, Wendy Craig and Peter Jeffrey filming Nanny, a TV series that ran from 1981 to 1983.
When Wendy Craig who both acted in and created the show, sent her proposal for the series to the BBC, she used the pseudonym Jonathan Marr because she was afraid that if her true identity was known, she would be dismissed as merely "an actress who thinks she can write".

Police Siege

The great thing about working as a photographer is it's totally unpredictable.
Last Monday I was photographing an after-school club presentation, one phone call and ten minutes later I was photographing the police at the armed siege.
There were reports of a man with a handgun and machete, so the armed response team were called to deal with it.
This is my picture of the siege on Tuesday's front page.

This is a picture of me trying to get farther away to take the picture below as the police pounce on the suspect.

Onyx is Ok

We had a difficult day yesterday, Wendy and I were called home early from work to find Helens horse Onyx seriously ill.

After a couple of hours with Helen and Nicky holding the sedated horse,
while we poured warm water into the tube the vet had put up the horses nose to wash out his stomach, he seemed much better.

This morning our neighbour, whose field Onyx was in at the time found a young girl staying with her had given Onyx un soaked sugar beet, which expanded in his stomach.

Unusually for me I didn't take any pictures (I genuinely thought Onyx was going to die) so this is and old picture.

This morning he is fine, but is staying in the stable for a few days.

Rubbish Service from Vodafone

The company I work for recently change cell phone supplier.
Here is a comparison of the Vodafone and BT Cellnet signal outside our house.
It means the company have saved a few quid on calls but lost my availability for emergency call-outs.

The water level in the Cam Brook is dropping now, but we still have a significant amount of water flowing.

I have a friend living
nearby, his name is
Gordon and you
may remember his
shed.

Gordon and his sons
have the answer to
all our household
problems.

A few months ago
I borrowed this
little crowbar it’s
about 8 feet long
and takes two
people to handle it.

Unbelievably
Gordon managed to
bend it moving a
tractor; he thinks
it was used in the
stone mines originally.
