I don't remember who this happy looking gentleman was.
But I remember that 20 years ago the Central Electricity Generating Board paid me to drive down to Hayle in Cornwall just take his picture and then drive home.
A round trip of almost 400 miles and I only stopped at Exeter on the way back to eat.

Here's a reminder of the old Bath City police force, copied off a wall at the police station.
These were the days when they spent money on staff rather than cars, radios and helicopters.

I'm not feeling too bad as long as I take my opiates on time and lie down a lot. Thanks to everyone for my gorgeous flowers, presents and kind thoughts. They have really kept me going. Love, Nicky x

Nicky News

Well its good and bad news today.
First the good news, Nicky had her tests today and all looks good as there is no sign of any blockage or problem.
It looks like it's just a matter of time while her innards adjust to the last operation.

Now the bad news, we have had to say goodbye to Smoky, he had been a member of the family for almost 15 years and was about 30 when we bought him.
He had a severe chest infection and despite trying special powder that cost nearly £100 a month he wasn't getting any better.

Here is a picture of him in happier times.

Hi Sam and Wendy

Hope you're both well and enjoying your weekend. I've just come back from visiting Nicky and she was looking very well and wasn't feeling too bad either, just a bit queasy.
I took this picture of us on my camera phone when nobody was looking.

Thanks for the blog updates which have been much appreciated!

Nicky News

I’m sorry to report that Nicky has had couple of bad days since coming off the epidural, as the hospital tries to balance the pain relief with the nausea it causes.

She slept most of the time today while we were visiting, as this is the way she finds best to combat the nausea.

No Phone calls to the Bed please, only to Andy (07967502786) it may be on answer phone if he’s in the hospital.

I will put a notice on the Blog when you can call her.

Wendy and Sam are going up to Harrow again on Sunday, and will report on Nicky's health Sunday night.

It’s strange the machines you find on motorway service stations, I think they must test new ideas there, here is a machine to charge mobile phones it's only £1 for 30 minutes.

Latest from Nicky

I called Nicky at 8 .30 tonight and she says she had the epidural out about 12.30.

And despite some discomfort, the pain is under better control than last time.

Nearly all her tubes are out and she managed a few steps today with Andy’s help.

She sends her love and hopes to be home within a week.

Sam
