Little Known Corners around Bath

Monkton Combe lock-up was erected in the early to mid 18th century and until about 1895/1900 there were stocks outside.
The building is approx. 8ft square with a domed roof and built of Bath stone. It is fitted with an iron studded oak door and is unusual as it contains two cells.
I have been a dozen times to photograph this lock up, but it always has a car parked outside, so this is two frames joined and the car cloned out.

Little Known Corners of Bath

This is the student accommodation in Raby Mews behind Bathwick St Mary Church in Bath.
You will note the SWGB carved across the front, because this was the billing centre in the 70s producing gas bills for the whole South-West of England.
In those days it was filled with staff producing the punch cards to feed the computers.

An old slide of Wendy, I think by the look of the hat and flares it must be the 70s.

All Blacks

Here's a snap of me looking like I was hanging around with dozens of journalists from around the world for an hour and a half for a 3-minute photo call with the All Blacks.
The woman in pink is Melody Robinson former loose forward for the World Champion Black Ferns, now a TV presenter.
She spent ten minutes trying to explaining the technical differences between the men’s and women’s Haka to me?

Sharpie

I was photographing a football match last week and spotted this dog, I think it's a Sharpie.
But they have a wrinkly body as well as face; it may be a cross of some sort.
Anyway it was only when downloaded the file and looked at it I realised what a short skirt the owner had.
She must have thought I was photographing her legs and not the dog, I wasn't honest.

Autumn comes to The Avenue Combe Hay; there can be few more impressive entrances to a village at this time on year.

Run for your lives!

In the early 60s my reactions were very good, as this picture proves.
I was walking down Westgate Street and heard the sound or tearing and realised a lorry was tearing down a sunblind and snapped this picture as passers-by ran.
Now remember this was the early 60s and you never left the shutter cocked as it was bad for the springs, so I had to wind the film on first.
The original Nikon F I used had no exposure meter, auto focus or motor drive.

Down in Poole they have to put things like E for egg
on the car parks walls.
So the Chelsea tractors can remember which
